Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version. Padeleja is a padel scoring app. Your matches, players, stats and health data are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Information leaves your phone only in these cases: when you go live with a match, when a player’s name is turned into announcer audio, when you download a voice language, when a Flic button checks for updates, and when you export or share something yourself. Each one is explained below.

Who we are
Padeleja is provided by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME — TO BE COMPLETED], [POSTAL ADDRESS — TO BE COMPLETED] (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, write to hello@padeleja.com.
What stays on your device
Padeleja stores everything you create locally on your iPhone: players (name, optional pronunciation and optional photo, which you pick with the system photo picker), matches with their point-by-point record, stats and settings. Your Apple Watch keeps only the current score and the workout in progress.
- We don’t receive this data and there is no Padeleja account or cloud sync.
- Like any app’s data, it may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone, depending on your settings.
- You can delete matches and players in the app at any time. Deleting the app deletes its data from your device.
Health data (Apple Health)
Health access is optional. Padeleja asks for it only for Apple Watch workouts — when you choose Apple Watch, turn on Record workouts, or start a match with a watch available. With your permission:
- Apple Watch records each match as a workout — heart rate and energy burned — and saves it to Apple Health.
- iPhone reads heart rate, active and resting energy, and Padeleja’s own workouts, to show each match’s duration, calories and heart rate in the app.
Health data is used only to show your workout in Padeleja and to save it in Apple Health. It is never sent to us, never sent to Firebase or ElevenLabs, never part of a live scoreboard and never used for advertising. It travels between your watch and your iPhone over Apple’s own connection.
It leaves your device only if you export or share it yourself: a backup file and a match exported as JSON include that match’s workout figures, and the result image shows your calories when a workout was recorded.
You can turn access off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Padeleja on your iPhone. When you delete a match, Padeleja asks whether to delete its workout from Health too.
Live match link (Google Firebase)
When you tap Go live during a match, Padeleja creates a live scoreboard on Google Firebase (Realtime Database) and updates it after every point. Anyone who has the link — padeleja.web.app/m/… — can watch it in a browser. This only happens when you choose to go live.
What the scoreboard contains: the team and player names as shown in the match (including pronunciation spellings, if you added any), the score, completed sets, who is serving and from which side, the match status and badges such as golden point, the last 10 announcer lines (which include player names), timestamps, and a random match identifier.
What it never contains: health data, your stats, your other matches, photos or any contact details.
Anonymous sign-in. So that only your phone can update its scoreboard, Firebase Anonymous Authentication gives your copy of the app a random identifier. It is not an account and is not linked to your name, email or device identity.
How long it stays online. The scoreboard can be read by anyone with the link until it is deleted. Padeleja deletes the scoreboards it created once they are more than 24 hours old, the next time you open the app. If you delete the app before then, or don’t open it again, the scoreboard is not removed automatically — email us the link and we’ll delete it.
Firebase is operated by Google, acting as our service provider. The live data is stored in the United States. The scoreboard page itself is served by Firebase Hosting and loads Google’s Firebase library, so Google processes the viewer’s IP address to deliver it.
Player names and announcer audio (ElevenLabs)
To say your players’ names, Padeleja turns each name into a short audio clip using ElevenLabs, a voice provider.
- What is sent: only the text of the name — or its pronunciation, if you added one — and custom team names. No score, health data, contact details or identifiers from Padeleja. As with any internet request, ElevenLabs can see your device’s IP address.
- When: when you add or rename a player, when a match starts with a custom team name, when you change the voice language or ask to record names again, and automatically when you open the app while a clip is still missing.
- The clip is saved on your device and reused. Until it’s ready, your iPhone’s built-in voice says the name, on the device.
ElevenLabs processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy, and may do so outside the European Union, including in the United States.
Coming soon: these requests will go through Padeleja’s own server, which forwards only the name text to ElevenLabs — so ElevenLabs will no longer see your IP address. We will update this policy when that change is live.
Voice language downloads
The English announcer is built into the app. The Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese voices (about 4 MB each) are downloaded from Padeleja’s file host on Firebase Hosting (Google) when you choose that language, or on first launch if your app is set to one of them. This is an ordinary download: no personal data is sent, but Google processes your IP address to deliver the files.
Flic buttons
Flic buttons are optional. Padeleja connects to them over Bluetooth using the software library provided by Flic (Shortcut Labs AB), and button presses are handled on your phone. The Bluetooth permission is used only to talk to your Flic buttons.
Flic’s library can contact Flic’s servers to check for and install firmware updates for your button. That exchange is handled by Shortcut Labs under its own privacy policy.
Backups, exports and sharing
- Export a backup (Settings → Backup) creates a
.padelejafile with all your players (including photos), matches with their point-by-point record and workout figures, and your settings. The file is not encrypted. You choose where it goes — Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop… — and we never receive it. Keep it somewhere safe. - A single match can be exported as CSV or JSON from History; the JSON includes that match’s workout figures.
- The result image shows the teams, the score, the date, the duration and, if a workout was recorded, your calories.
Once you share a file or image, the app or service you share it with handles it under its own terms.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking
- No advertising and no advertising identifier.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No sign-up, no account, no in-app purchases.
This website and email
padeleja.com uses no cookies, no third-party analytics and no third-party scripts. If you pick a language, that choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage, on your device. Our web server, located in France, processes your IP address to deliver the pages and may record it in the technical logs needed to run and secure the site. Our domain’s DNS is provided by Cloudflare.
Visit counter. To know which pages are read, each page you open sends a single count to our own server (api.padeleja.com, also in France) containing only the page’s address. We add it to a daily total per page and language. We store no IP address, cookie, browser details or identifier with it, so we can’t tell visitors apart or follow anyone from page to page.
If you email hello@padeleja.com, your message is stored on our mail server in France and used only to answer you. We delete it when it is no longer needed for your request.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Live scoreboard, name audio and voice downloads: to provide the features you ask for (performance of a contract) and our legitimate interest in a working app.
- Health data: your explicit consent, given through the Apple Health permission and withdrawable at any time.
- Emails, website logs and the visit counter: our legitimate interest in answering you, keeping our services secure and knowing which pages are useful.
How long data is kept
- On your device: until you delete it or the app.
- Live scoreboards: as described above — deleted by the app after 24 hours, or on request.
- Name text at ElevenLabs: according to ElevenLabs’ own policy.
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Most of your data exists only on your device, where you can view, export and delete it yourself. For live scoreboards or emails, contact hello@padeleja.com — because there are no accounts, we may ask for the live link to find your scoreboard.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Padeleja is a general-audience sports app. It has no accounts and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent who wants a live scoreboard removed can write to hello@padeleja.com.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also say so in the app’s update notes.
